Who we are
Dr. Curtis D. Asbury, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist who started one of the first dermatology practices in this area in 2013. He grew up Mount Airy, Maryland where his parents still live today and he frequently visits the same home he grew up in. After completing high school, he went on to attend Duke University where he was deeply ingrained in campus activities and is a true “Dukie”. He has graced the cover of many newspapers sporting his “blue man suit” for Duke basketball games – make sure to ask him about it when you are in the office. He later became a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. After completing an internship in internal medicine at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, he then moved to New York for dermatology residency. Dr. Asbury completed his dermatology residency at Stony Brook University School of Medicine on Long Island, where in his final year he served as chief resident. In addition to his love of dermatology and taking care of people, Dr. Asbury enjoys spending time outdoors and watching college sports. He is active in the dermatology community nationwide. He enjoys lecturing and teaching others, with special interests in dermoscopy.
Sara Moghaddam, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist who first came to the Eastern Shore in 2015 to join Dr. Asbury’s very busy practice. She is from Houston, Texas where her friends and family still remain. She then went on to attend Texas A&M University where she became a “Fightin’ Texas Aggie” and enjoyed the campus camaraderie and all the college football you can imagine. Then Dr. Moghaddam completed medical school at Texas Tech University School of Medicine. After finishing an internship in internal medicine at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas, she moved all the way to New York to complete dermatology residency at the Stony Brook University School of Medicine on Long Island, in which her final year she served as chief resident. Dr. Moghaddam is active in speaking engagements in the community as well as skin cancer screenings. Although she misses her Texas roots, she enjoys this community and has made the Eastern Shore her home. You might see some pictures in the office of her two long-haired dachshunds that she truly treats like dog-children. Dr. Moghaddam enjoys all the aspects of dermatology with a special interest in surgical procedures, acne, and dermoscopy.
